This Golden Gate Park Poster was designed with the objective to arrange and stylize text to provide informational hierarchy to the viewer. With numerous events that had to fit all in one 20x30 poster, the events were divided into two groups of information, day events and night events. The design primarily focuses on establishing an efficient visual hierarchy that allows viewers to read with ease as well as pinpoint the important pieces of information including the event, place, date, time and description. Visual hierarchy was established through elements of scale, contrast, and color. The three fonts being utilized are Bookmania, Garamond and Proxima Nova. The inclusion of Bookmania added a decorative, and elegant feel to the words that was inspired by the fun of the festivities as well the italicized Garamond. Proxima Nova is used for the body text to allow users to have a quick read, despite having a somewhat smaller font size.

Graphic Development
Original graphics were created in Photoshop and implemented within the poster design in order to invest in visual interest. The graphics are an abstract visualization of the curving pathways of the parks. I designed this abstract pathway to navigate throughout the poster and guide the viewer’s eye.
